Outwit, Outplay, Outlast

The time has finally arrived. The wait is finally over. Survivor begins tomorrow! In our estimation, this is the greatest hour on television each week and deserves full consideration. This season features the African landscape of Gabon. This is the seventeenth season of Survivor and the first one shot in HD. There are 18 new competitors & the same ruggedly handsom host, Jeff Probst. Be sure you all tune in at 8/7 Central on CBS, Thursday night. You won't regret it.

Week 31

As I ended my 31st week of pregnancy, I enjoyed my 1st baby shower! We had another weekend in DFW this past Thursday, Friday & Saturday. This time we stayed with our sweet friends Beau & Cara and thier little boy Ian. We brought Avery with us because we don't know anyone here in Cove well enough to ask them to keep our dog, but it turned out that Ian was thrilled to play with her. He pulled on her tail, ears and legs and just giggled and grinned about it. It was so fun to see our dog (the apple of our eye) lay there and let this baby tug on her. She is going to be so great with Connor. Friday, we saw Matt's orthopedic surgeon in the morning. He's had some pain that was concerning us but our fears were put to rest. The doctor said the joint was strong and that there was nothing to worry about. From there we went to see my midwife, Christy. The appointment went well. We listened to the heart beat and measured my belly. I measured right on schedule & things are looking good, which is always comforting to hear. That night we gathered with friends at Phil & Holly's house for a relaxed pizza and game night, only to find out that Emily is pregnant! Yeah Muck's! Then, on Saturday, my friends threw me a shower which was just great. I was blessed with great gifts, notes of encouragment and prayers on my behalf. I was also lucky enough to have 3 friends from college show up as well as my friend Margaret whom I grew up going to school with! Marquel, Kathryn, Bonnie & Margaret all came and braved a shower where they really didn't know anyone and I felt so loved for that. Thanks girls! Well, here are some pictures from the weekend.

We have been busy as usual in the last few weeks and I've posted a new slideshow so you can see what we've been up to. Beau, Cara & Ian McLeod came to visit with Stephen & Whitney Williams one weekend. We've worked on the house some. I helped host Holly's baby shower and a baby shower for my new friend Kelly here in Cove.
As far as new baby information, there isn't much to tell. I'm measuring right on schedule for Connor to arrive around the 20th of November or slightly before. (Wouldn't that be great!!!) We have ordered a crib and are hoping it arrives earlier than we were told. I am feeling good most of the time, however I'm tired more often, like I was my first trimester.
We also went to see the Roundrock Express game on Sunday night (an event Matt organized for the church) and I came home sick. I am pretty sure it's allergies but could be a cold. Anyway not being able to take anything has really been difficult. All I wanted was a good night's rest so my body could heal. It is getting better though, last night I only woke up twice I think. That's a huge improvement from the previous 2 nights.
Oh, the myth of "pregnancy brain," is NOT a myth! It truly exists! I have been doing things that are completely out of my character and not even realizing it until Matt tells me. For example, leaving refrigerated foods out all day, leaving exterior doors open, not completing sentences and the list goes on. It is very strange and I did NOT believe it was real before experiencing it. Well, I guess that's all for now. - Sarah
