Jesus Changes My Heart

While reading the Bible with Connor tonight Matt recapped what they read last night. It was the story of Paul's conversion on the road to Damascus. Last night they talked about how God changed Saul/Paul's heart and that God has changed Mommy & Daddy's hearts. Matt also told Connor that he hoped one day God would change Connor's heart too. Connor also recently learned where his physical heart is in his body. So as they recapped tonight their conversation went something like this:

Connor: Changed? (pointing at Paul)

Matt: Yeah, Did God change his heart?

Connor: Me? (pointing to his own heart)

Matt: Will God change your heart?

Connor: Yeeeah

Matt: Yes, Connor, one day God will change your heart.

Connor: Jesus? Heart?

Matt: (beaming from ear to ear) Yes, Jesus will come live in your heart one day when you ask him to.

Connor: Yeeeah. Chanch (change) me!

My precious child is learning the foundational truths of the universe. God, through His son, Jesus Christ, will change his heart when he surrenders that heart to Him. I stood at the kitchen sink with tear filled eyes praising my Father for the blessing occurring in my living room.

Brothers & Best Friends

This morning while talking to Connor about sharing and taking turns with others he talked a lot about sharing with "fwends." He knows the right answers at least! Anyway, at the end of our play time conversation this was said:

Me: Connor, do we share our toys with our friends?

Connor: Yes

Me: Do you love to play with your friends?

Connor: Yes

Me: Who do you play with at church?

Connor: Cowin (Colin), Annie (Andi), Why-nn (Ryan), etc...

Me: Who is your best friend?

Connor: Termin (Cameron)

MELT ME! That right there is the goal. Our desire for our boys to be the best of friends is so great and I truly believe we have to teach them how to do so. I think sibling rivalry is more natural and sibling friendship needs nurturing and guidance. I'm still pretty new at this whole mothering thing but this was a great moment for me.

Be My Valentine

My friend Laura hosted a Valentine's party today for our kids and it was too cute. When we arrived she had us make hearts out of the kids hand prints. Ours didn't really turn out as planned but we participated. Then we let the kids run and play while we decorated cookies "for them." Next we ate lunch and we all took home Valentine cards that "the kids" exchanged.

Connor's first attempt is the 2nd full paper you can see. He said "dinosaur" after he pulled his hands off of it. To each his own, right?

Connor wasn't too happy about having to pose for a picture but he survived.

Crawling

Cameron will be 9 months old on Tuesday. He began crawling on Friday. Here he is!
