Summer Activities

I really love summer and all that it brings. Here's a taste of what we've been up to.

Father's Day

Yesterday was a great day for the Moore family! When Connor woke up VERY early from his nap, we decided that we could sit around the house and hope he wouldn't be too fussy or we could do something fun with the day and make the best of it. We hopped in the car and headed south. Matt got a coupon recently for free cheesecake with an entree at Cheesecake Factory, so that was our intended destination. Plus we really love the Arboretum area and could spend time (not money) entertaining ourselves there too. You may remember that we took this same little outing last year around this time and had a great time then too.
It turned out that Connor did great! Both boys did. Cameron slept the entire time, except for waking up to eat and hang out while we ate dinner. He was so content and calm. Just precious. Connor did get more and more tired but instead of getting fussy, he got crazy. Just plain goofy. So that kept us laughing, which is better than crying!

Here's my wonderful husband on Father's Day. He is such a blessing to me and to his boys. I cannot imagine life without him as the father of my children. He is so loving, playful, kind and generous with his boys.

Connor offered to pick up the check after dinner.

This is how Cameron spent most of the day.

Climbing on the life-sized cow statues was a thrill for Connor.

We tried for quite a while to get a good family photo and the boys were so squirmy this was the best we got. Not awesome, but it does the trick.

One or the Other

I have felt so behind on Cameron's scrapbook lately and the pressure got to me last week some time. I placed an order with snapfish and got a bunch of pictures in the mail shortly thereafter. Over the weekend I made 5 new pages for his book and have a list of others that need making. Now I am feeling the pressure of not having updated the blog in quite a while. I just can't do it all! Ahhh!
Here is an update from the Moore household as best I can put it. We have a 19 month old who is still cracking us up with every turn. He is knee deep in toddler-hood. One of his "things" lately is that he is very opinionated about which shoes he will wear. We will get him dressed with no dispute but then go to put his shoes on and he heads for his closet shaking his head saying "no, no, no, no..." until he finds the shoes he wants. It isn't always the same pair either. It's not like he has one favorite pair he wants to wear every time. He just has a strong opinion about which ones will go best with his outfit, I guess! Either way it has been a fun way to let him be independent and show us his personality. LOVE it!
We saw the doctor last week for his 18 month check up (a month late, but oh well.) He weighs 29lbs and is 33 inches tall. This put him in the 75 percentile over all. He is healthy & growing beautifully!
He has been an extremely picky eater for the last few months, requiring pureed veggies and fruit, eating NO meat and very selective about his grains. In the last two or three weeks however, he has really turned a corner and is wanting to eat what we are eating. He has eaten a variety of textures and flavors and even meats! It is so exciting to us.
Connor is still loving books and puzzles but most of all he LOVES to play outside. He begs to go out and would stay for hours if we could stand the heat. Last weekend we bought an inflatable pool for us to stay cool in this summer. It came as no surprise to us that Connor loves that too.
He is expanding his vocabulary just a little. He still doesn't speak a lot but some of his newer words are: Mimi, Papa, Areeey (Avery), up, out, ball, deer, tah too (thank you) and of course his favorite: nooo.

Sprinkler fun!

First time in the new pool.

Eating yogurt & playing peek-a-boo!

Cameron is just causing our hearts to grow and grow. He is proving to be a pretty laid back baby. He sleeps well and eats well. He also loves his mama, which I enjoy. When he is upset and no one can seem to calm him, I can! It's nice to feel needed. He is growing like crazy. At his 2 week check up he was already 11 lbs 11 ounces and 23 inches. Off the charts! He is so strong. Matt said today that because he is so big and strong its easy to forget he's only 5 weeks old. It is so true. He is bright eyed and very alert, smiling for us now and always holding his head up to see what's going on.
A few pictures of our newest boy:
Cuddle time before bed, my favorite!

Cameron isn't quite ready for the new cloth diapers. His little legs, chunky as they may be, don't fill up the holes & we've had some leaks. Soon enough though, we will no longer be buying diapers! Yahoo!

And a few of them together:
Trying to get a picture of them together is tricky!

I am loving matching outfits for them and tried this Sunday to snap a picture of them together and you can see just how cooperative Connor was being. At least he offered Cameron a kiss!

Pictures!

I got a disc of a bunch of pictures from my mom's camera so here's what you've missed so far.
We went bowling, trying to induce labor - didn't work. Connor enjoyed it though.

For a while, Connor was quite convinced that the new vibrating bouncy chair was his massage lounger. He thoroughly enjoys it and has not once tried to pull Cameron out of it!

Family photo - Cameron was 3 days old here.

Both Grandma's have been here helping a ton!

Matt is learning to juggle two boys.

Connor has a new fascination with his daddy's shoes. Matt has not worn these hiking boots in years and Connor went and dug them out of the back of the closet and wore them around the house quite proudly. He can walk a good distance in Matt's tennis shoes.
