Port Aransas - Finally!

Just up from naps and hanging out on the porch.

Who can count the rolls?

An evening swim just before bed.

Connor caught onto how to fill his bucket with water very quickly.

Pouring out his full bucket - for the 967th time.

It takes control to keep a squirmy toddler still for a picture!

Does anyone else see a color difference here?
I'm thinking my children have my husband's skin!

Picking out some shades before hitting the waves!

Ahhh! Thankfully Uncle Jake saved Connor from the jaws of death! (Also known as the side entrance to a souvenir shop.)

One very sweet and happy baby!

The boys - minus Cam. He just stuck to swimming at the pool.

Evidence

We did go to the beach! I just haven't had time to write about it yet. More pictures soon. I promise.

Little Reader

I took the boys to the library last week for the first time. We've been to Story Time but this was just us in the quiet library and zillions of books. I was pretty nervous but also excited about the possibilities. Connor did so well. I was incredibly proud of him. Cameron slept in the stroller (big surprise) while Connor did puzzles and chose 4 books to bring home. We even got to PBS dvd's while we were there. Connor obeyed EVERY time I told him not to pull books off the shelf or come with me to the bathroom, etc. That is rare in and of itself, so to have such excellent obedience in a public place was a fantastic treat! Here we are reading our borrowed books later that night.

He's a Travelin Man

Connor found a new toy while I began packing for our trip.

Play Time

Cameron's first time in the exer-saucer! Connor was really excited for him at first. Now, he gets a little jealous that he isn't the one in it. We do let Connor get in and jump around but his interest is pretty short lived.
Cameron continues to impress us with his strength. He holds his head up all of the time and is trying his hardest to pull himself up to sitting and standing when given any opportunity. He rolls from his back to his side (usually his right) frequently and will be on his tummy before we know it! I'm sure of that.

Connor 21 mo

My big boy is growing up right before my eyes. Tonight I looked at pictures from just 4 months ago when Cameron was born and Connor already looks worlds different. He is thinning, stretching and just plain changing. It makes me so sad to see his baby-ness slipping away. He is my first born and while it is, to some degree, easier for him to be growing and developing and maturing it is also heart wrenching. There is a part of me that wants him to stay an innocent, naive baby forever. Nevertheless, on he grows...

Playing in the coolness of a September evening.

He emptied a 2 liter bottle of bubbles in the kitchen floor. As you can see, he was quite thrilled with himself.

Displaying his "shades" his Mimi bought for him.

Just a comment on the clothing: Yes he does own more than 3 shirts. I guess he just does cute stuff when wearing the same things. Some of these pictures are as much as a month apart!

Why Stop?

Sometimes I'm not sure why I stop driving at all.

Exer-Saucer Comparison

Connor and Cameron playing in the Exer-Saucer. Can you tell me which boy is which?

Honey

Matt's grandmother "Honey," Ruth Decker passed away Sunday the 22nd of August. Honey was a key figure in Matt's growing up years and played a significant part in his becoming a Christian. She was a kind, loving and very generous woman. She welcomed me right into her family and always took an interest in others. I am so grateful to have known her and will miss her dearly. We went to Wimberley last weekend for the funeral and in the midst of mourning, we enjoyed family and a beautiful part of Texas.

Rebekka, Natalie & Connor (Matt's cousin Brent's girls) at the memorial.

Brownie thief! (This was the 3rd one!)

Lunch at Ino'z on Cypress Creek. Yummm!

This boy has a BEAUTIFUL smile that I could stare at all day.

Connor was none to thrilled about leaving the toy store.

Aunt Sherilyn was getting some cuddle time!
