Spiritual Milestones

Matt & I have prayed for the spiritual development of our children from their conception. We want to raise boys who will become brave, honest, risk-taking, fun-loving, men who love God more than anything. We want them to worship Him with their lives. For that reason we are very intentional with the things we teach them. We have been working on teaching them the Lord's Prayer for the last several weeks. Last night Connor asked if he could do it himself. To our surprise he recited the entire prayer with only a few mistakes! Nearly perfect! We were amazed! We had no idea and were incredibly proud.

Not to be outdone, Cameron said, "I do it too." And then he did! People, he is 2 1/2!

By no means do we believe that learning the Lord's Prayer or the Doxology or Amazing Grace earns their (or our) favor with God. But rather that we are teaching them truth from scripture and laying a foundation for their future. Ultimatley the decision about whether or not to follow Christ will be their decision to make. But I will do all that I can to show them that it is the best decision one can make.

And then just because he's cute...
